How do you work out your marriage problems where it doesn’t end up in a divorce?
Counseling is a HUGE help and should be your first step. Open communication in a "safe" environment. You will get help in discussing any and all problems you may be experiencing. Finding the right counselor is a really important thing too.
Remember to tell each other that you love each other every single day. Start doing those little things that you used to do in the beginning when love was fresh and new – little love notes, a card, telling each other that you appreciate each other, go out on dates together. It really does work and you may just remember that person you fell in love with and fall in love all over again.
I speak from experience. It happened to me and we are happier now – after 17 years of marriage – than we have ever been! I am SOOOOO glad we worked on our marriage! You can too!
Best of luck!
What are some arguments that support gay marriage and rights?
I am looking for some information or arguments that support gay marriage. Some things I know already is that the Constitution states life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for everyone, discrimination is illegal, and it isn’t a choice. Anymore like these will help so much!
An easy 10 points (;
Thank you!
Google it! and ask around in school….
Does marriage counseling just ask you to talk or do they give advice too?
My husband and I would like to go to marriage counseling to get some advice on how to improve our marriage and fix some of the problems that we are having. Does marriage counseling just involve talking about your issues with a non-partial third party or do they auctually help by giving advice on how to fix things?
They should be able to help with ideas and plans depending on the topic.
Counseling that focuses on communication has dismal failure rates.
You just learn to articulate what you hate more clearly.
Is gay marriage the same as legal incest. Say a father and willing daughter or son being able to marry?
I recently had someone state to me that if you believe in equality for all, speaking of gay marriage, then you should agree with incest between consenting adults or that makes you a bigot.
Any thoughts on this issue.
In gay marriage there are two of the same gender involved. I doubt they can produce children. If they could they’d be millionaires. Plus it’s not incest for gays to marry, unless they happened to be closely related as below, and then I doubt they’d be allowed, but that has never come up to the best of my knowledge, but it is an interesting question to put before the ones presiding over the marriage or the courts where gay marriage is allowed, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
In incest, especially a female and a male there is a high risk of children being brought into this world with birth defects. Fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, brothers and sisters, first cousins and even a risk at second cousins. Third cousins may marry.
Now not quite off the topic, but . . . if specific Mormon may marry more than one woman at a time, then why can’t all men marry more than one woman at a time? Further more, why can’t a Mormon woman have more than one husband at a time; and if so . . . why can’t all women have more than one husband at a time?
My husband and I filed for disolution of marriage in California . We no longer live together.?
I am living in another state. The lawyer says we are no longer responsible for each other .We are in out 6 month waiting period but havent file a legal separation paper. Someone told me if you file for divorce or disolution of marriage you are in the eyes of the law are legally separated . They said there is a difference between a legal separation and being legally separated . Is this true?
My advice is to hire a lawyer, and go ahead and file for divorce. Either way, you have to be apart for at least 6 months, but at the end, you are divorced!
Can I get married under both Christian Marriage Act and Special Marriage Act in India?
I am a Hindu woman and my fiance is Christian (Roman Catholic). I will be converting prior to the Church wedding. Will our marriage then be registered under the Christian Marriage Act? If yes, then is it possible to also get it registered under the Special marriage Act? I read about the Section 15 which allows for such instances. Any information on this topic would be really appreciated.
You are Hindu woman & your fiance is Roman Catholic Christian, so you both can legally marry under the Special Marriage Act,1954 the civil form of marriage without either of you changing ones religion.
The question of religion, caste, creed, nationality doesn’t arise in marriage solemnized under the Act.
Now if you change your religion, adopt Christianity and than marry according to Christian rite & ceremonies, your christian marriage is not only solemnized under the Christian Marriage Act,1872 but a Valid Marriage certificate issued by the Priest, the copy of the same is sent to the Registrar of Birth, Death & Marriages to be recorded under the Christian Marriage Act,1872.
One can get any form of religious marriage (Christian Marriage in this case) under section 15 of the Special Marriage Act,1954 for which proof of marriage (photographs, wedding card, marriage certificate of the religious priest or temple as the case may be), age of both parties(21years or more), proof of address (for the purpose of jurisdiction of the registrar of marriages in the district where registration of the marriage sought), 3 adult witnesses with I.D. proof will be required. The process of issuing one month notice has to be followed in such marriage registration also.
The Marriage get registered after one month notice expires & no objection received by the Registrar of Marriages under the Act.
The religious marriage after getting registered under the Special Marriage Act,1954 will be covered under this Act only for all purposes & will be considered as civil marriage from the date of registration, meaning thereby a Christian marriage after the registration under the Special Marriage Act,1954 will not remain religious marriage but will be civil marriage under the Act. The Christian Marriage Act,1872 will not apply in the marriage & in case of any dispute amongst the parties the adjudication takes place under the Special Marriage Act,1954 only.
