Why do gay people who aren’t christian want to use the christian word, "marriage"?
They all ready have the same tax benefits so why are they so pissed we won’t let them use a christian word? They don’t even believe in Christ yet they are pissed they can’t be defined by the bible ie marriage. What am I missing?

Does anyone know why people get married by the altar in a Christian marriage ceremony?
Why is the altar so important? Is it something like its where you’re closest to God or something like that?

The alter is usually the centerpoint of the church. It is a place for people to focus and people are often much better when they have an actual focal point rather than nothing.
Since the alter is the centerpoint of the church, it makes sense that a couple who wants to take their vows before God would do so near that focal point inside the church.
