Do you think this secrecy contributes to the problems in their marriage?
In Henrik Ibsen’s " A Doll’s House," Nora is secretive and hides things from Torvald. Do you think this secrecy contributes to the problems in their marriage, or do you think that Nora is helping to keep her marriage together by hiding her indiscretions from Torvald? Why?
I think the secrecy is contributes to the problems in their marriage because not telling the comlplete truth always leads to trouble. Keeping secretes it’s just as bad as liying and it only keeps them together until the other figures out the secret.

A marriage counselor once put it to me this way: if you have a secret that, if revealed, could damage the relationship, but that, if kept secret, does not hurt the relationship, then the only reason you would tell the other person is if you subconsciously wanted to hurt them. so no, i don’t think the secrescy is what’s ruining this marriage.
