I completely agree with you! I chose monogamy but was given casual sex as a door prize because my wife is realistic and knows that It’s better for me to have sex with a friend of hers than with a complete stranger that she can’t trust. I like it better this way.

My wife hasn’t been interested in sex since our daughter was born a year and a half ago. She has no problem letting me sleep with a very attractive friend of hers. It’s just sex. nothing complicated. That’s our solution. I do really like being on call for sex with one of her friends. It feels like I should be in trouble with my wife because of it but I’m not because she approves. Monogamy is the decision to give up your sex life for one person. I would rather my girlfriend give up smoking. Seriously I would rather she sleep with another guy than smoke. My girlfriend can go longer without me than a cigarette. I went away for my dad’s funeral and i bet she smoked more when I was gone. Sex isn’t love and it’s just as rewarding with a stranger than with your mate. If you can’t enjoy casual sex that’s a personal choice. More of an issue I would say.

The problems we make for ourselves is we take everything too personal. We need to get away from the self centeredness that rules behavior. We always ask how can you do this too me when in fact the person did it to themselves. I think it’s ok too sleep with as many partners as you can. Monogamy is a death. It’s a death to the only thing you have ownership of. Your body.

This advice is pretty lame. “In Love” is such a passive feeling. It is an effect, something that happens after you do stuff.
It is also very individual-focused. If YOU don’t respect them. If YOU enjoy them. Are they objectively respectable? Do they have enjoyable qualities? I know if I am at my wife, I don’t feel like that at the moment, but it doesn’t change that she is a nice person.
Focus on changing yourself, being a strong person and building a strong relationship.
